Problem in Ninox 4

There is an issue displaying some formulas in Ninox 4—I'm sending a video.

Is this normal? It doesn't happen to me in Ninox 3. Some ideas.

    Seems to be an UI Bug.
    I try to reproduce this issue and forward it to our developers.
    One more additional question:
    Does this only depends on all or some formular fields in the form and how look like the script behind these formulas fields?

       Hi Uwe

      It does not affect all fields.

      % Complete

      if number(bac) > 0 then

      number(ev) / number(bac)

      else

      0

      end

      % Planned

      let t := today();
      let tb := sum(task.snap_bac);
      if tb > 0 then
          sum(for k in task do
                  let s := k.start_date;
                  let e := k.end_date;
                  if s and e then
                      if t < s then
                          0
                      else
                          if t >= e then
                              number(k.snap_bac)
                          else
                              number(k.snap_bac) * (days(s, t) + 1) / (days(s, e) + 1)
                          end
                      end
                  else
                      0
                  end
              end) /
          tb
      else
          0
      end

      Hello,

      Thank you for looking into this.

      It does not depend on all formula fields. Simple formulas on the same form (date differences such as Duration, Time Elapsed or Days Remaining) load instantly. The delay comes from formula fields that traverse relationships, especially when a formula reads another formula field of the linked records. Hiding those fields makes the form load immediately; showing them again brings the delay back on every visit, even when no data has changed.

      Setup: table Projects (1 record) with reverse links to Task (19 records) and Budget Items (90 records).

      1) Projects · % Planned: loops over the linked tasks and reads a formula field (weight) on each task:

      let t := today();

      sum(for k in task do

       let s := k.start_date;

       let e := k.end_date;

       if t < s then 0

       else if t >= e then number(k.weight)

       else number(k.weight) * (days(s, t) + 1) / (days(s, e) + 1) end end

      end)

      2) Task · weight (formula), which depends on another formula:

      if projects.bac > 0 then task_budget_bac / projects.bac end

      3) Task · task_budget_bac (formula), filtering the project's budget items by chapter:

      let c := number(chapters);

      sum(projects.budget_items[number(chapters) = c].total_cost)

      Several other Projects fields (EV, PV, SV, SPI, EAC, TCPI, Task Coverage) reference these fields, so the same chain is recalculated multiple times each time the form opens. Wrapping the top formula in cached() did not noticeably help.

      The same structure and formulas load instantly in Ninox 3.

      If it helps your developers, I can share a copy of the database or invite you to the workspace.

      if you use a freemium account, could you please invite development@ninox.com as admin to this workspace.

      It helps to investigate in detail.

      Thank’s

    Hello  ,

    This forum is intended for the exchange of ideas and tips, not for reporting bugs or UI issues.
    If you encounter any such issues, please contact support@ninox.com first to report them.
    We plan to set up categories in the English-language Ninox forum soon as well.
    We started with the German forum first to gather experience and optimize our workflows based on that feedback.
    Thank you for your understanding.
